I'm finally over the flu! -- just in time, as I've got a belly dance performance on December 20th. I maintained my weight over the Thanksgiving holiday, but with the house all decorated for Christmas, it's not easy getting back on track with weight loss. Nevertheless...
1) Drink 3 L H2O daily!
2) Work out for 1 hour every day: practice dance for performance/new steps for 1/2 hour daily; do 1/2 hour of cardio daily
3) Breathe every hour
4) Planner/Praise every day
So...what are your goals for this week? If you're looking to lose weight, how can you step it up a notch? If your plan is maintenance, how will you stay on track? Let us know :)!
Right now I'm trying to keep track of the amount of vegetables and fruits I eat every day. I don't eat enough of them.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're in an information-gathering stage right now, Veronica -- and knowledge is power! Make sure you decide when you'll stop gathering information, and when you'll start making changes...and keep us posted on how it goes :)!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about how to increase accountability, and I've decided one way I can do so is to post daily to this thread with how it went the previous day. And here's how it went:
ReplyDelete1) Drank 3 liters of water. Yes!!
2) Practiced for 1/2 hour; did not get in the 1/2 hour of cardio. Plan to go the gym tonight for the 1/2 hour of cardio. Will rehearse today after lunch. So, a half-yes :).
3) Used tai chi chuan breathing as often as necessary/possible. Yes!
4) Got in both planner and praise. Yesyes!
So, today my focus is on scheduling my workouts *and* my dance practice...and staying on track otherwise.
Wednesday's update on how my goals went Tuesday:

2) Got in both my 1/2 hour of dance (in 2 15-minute segments) and a 1/2 hour of cardio (at home on the elliptical). Yes!
3) Used tai chi chuan breathing a few times, but not as often as I should have. I am going to *time* how long it takes me to do my breathing exercise today, and remind myself that this small investment pays big dividends!
4) Got in both planner and praise. Yes!

3) Used tai chi chuan breathing, but didn't time it. Making note to myself *right now* to time it and remind myself that this small investment pays big dividends.
On this note, I *did* take time to enjoy a light meal before leaving to teach a class last night, instead of rushing through it or eating in the car. Worked *much* better!

3) It takes less than 1 minute to complete my tai chi chuan breathing routine. I'm pretty sure I have time to breathe many times a day!

I'm still thinking about a better way to manage my schedule to get in exercise and dance, so I can get to bed at a reasonable time...
